R3 MOVEMENT
RESPECT YOUR TEAMMATES
You are all part of this team. You may be the greatest player in the world, but we’re playing team sports here, and if you can’t play together, you won’t win. We don’t want to be putting our own teammates down. We want them to get better and in turn, the team will get better. So, encourage, build up, and drive your team to be better together (on and off the field).
RESPECT YOUR OPPONENTS
We want everyone to improve and develop in their time in Perry Rec. We also need to understand that the opponent is trying to do the same. Of course we want it to be competitive, of course we want the teams to want to win, but there is a healthy way to approach it.
RESPECT YOURSELF
We don’t expect the kids to be superstars and we don’t expect them to go pro tomorrow. We only expect that they try to get better at every moment. If they are goofing off and not doing what they need to do, they are disrespecting themselves. Always do your best, be your best, and you will grow into a great person and athlete.
A strong team is built on a foundation of mutual respect, not only for one another but also for their opponents and themselves. Within the team, every individual’s contributions are valued, and differences are appreciated as strengths, fostering an environment of trust and collaboration. Respect for opponents is equally important, recognizing that competition is an opportunity to grow, learn, and test one’s abilities in the spirit of fairness and sportsmanship. Lastly, self-respect fuels a team's inner drive to give their best, remain disciplined, and uphold the highest standards of integrity. Together, this respect creates a unified, resilient, and honorable team.
