Recreational Soccer League Rules

THE FOLLOWING RULES ARE DESIGNED FOR SAFETY, FAIR PLAY, AND FUN!!

1. No climbing on goals or nets.
2. Parents are not to drop off their children and leave the playing fields during practices or games.
3. Each player is to play at least half of the game.
4. Players are to be rotated into different positions.
5. A player should not play goalkeeper two periods in a row, or more than half the game.
6. Shin guards ARE mandatory at ALL practices and games. Long socks should be worn over shin guards to help hold them in place.
7. Cleats are not mandatory, but are strongly recommended. NO metal or removable cleats.
8. Players are not allowed to wear jewelry of ANY kind during practices or games.
9. Knit hats for warmth are allowed, but no hats with brims are permitted. (Baseball hats)
10. If a player has fallen, he/she may not make an attempt to play the ball. The player must get to their feet as soon as possible.
11. If a player is injured, instruct them and all players to sit down.
12. A player's uniform must be worn over all clothing. If a player has a hooded jacket or sweater, please tuck the hood into their clothing.
13. Slide tackling is not taught or allowed at any level in this league.
14. Referees control the game. If you have a question about a call, please call a timeout and professionally discuss it with the referee. Remember the referee has the final say.
15. Games will be postponed only if severe weather exists. DO NOT assume games are cancelled. Most cancellations will occur at the fields at game time.

1. Five players from each team will take the field: Two forwards, two defenders, and a goalkeeper.
2. Games will consist of four, ten-minute quarters, with a five-minute half-time break.
3. One coach from each team is allowed on the field during the game.
4. The goalkeeper is the only player allowed inside the arc in the front of the goal. While inside the arc, the goalie can use his/her hands. If they step out of the arc, they must use their feet.
5. If a player steps into the arc and scores, the goal does not count. The result is a goal kick for the defending team.
6. Players are to be substituted while the game is in progress; During wither teams' throw in, goal kick, or after a goal is scored.

6-8 Year Olds

1. Seven players from each team will take the field: Six field players and a goalkeeper.
2. Games will consist of four, twelve-minute quarters with a five-minute half-time break.
3. One coach from each team is allowed on the field during the game.
4. Players are to be substituted while the game is in progress; During either wither teams' throw in, goal kick, or after a goal is scored.

9+ Year Olds

1. Eight players from each team will take the field: Seven field players and a goalkeeper.
2. Games will consist of four, twelve-minute quarters, with a five-minute half-time break.
3. No coaches on the field during games.
4. Players are to be substituted while game is in progress; During either teams' throw-in, goal kick, or after a goal is scored.
